Bang next to the church, a farm, and some old old houses. Part of the heart of the old village, is this atmospheric country pub. It’s been there since at least 1833 when one Joseph Holmes was listed as ‘Victualler [licenced purveyor of spirits] and Lime Burner (Bee Hive)’. There’s a building on the site in the 1720 survey, though not necessarily a pub.
They used to host a folk club, and occasional Sheffield Steelers ‘meet the fans’ nights.
In 2019 it had a major re-vamp and sadly, the snooker table was replaced by a dining area.
