Woodsetts is just inside South Yorks and less than a mile from the Nottinghamshire border and the market town of Worksop, and just off the A57 Lincoln – Sheffield road. It’s set amid woods and fields and definitely comes under the place for a quiet life category. It’s very small – there are a small number of old stone buildings around the church, but mostly it consists of housing that seems to have been built since 1920, with a sprawling post 1960s private housing estate. There’s also a number of what look like post WW1 council houses.
There’s only one pub, the Butcher’s Arms.
Overall the feel of the place is similar to Todwick or Thorpe Salvin i.e. a quiet rural village rather than an ex pit village.
