Thurcroft’s most imposing church was built in the centre of the village in 1937 – other towns on the website have old cores with centuries old buildings and churches that map out their histories from as far away as Roman times over 1,600 years ago. Thurcroft is an early 20th century town and has a church to match. Sadly the brown rust stains are from the steel mesh over the windows, and coils of barbed wire are draped around the drainpipes to deter lead thieves, vandals, and burglars.
Thurcroft’s graveyard, established in the 1920s and a quarter of a mile or so outside the town on the road to Laughton.
