As these pictures show, the Thorpe people take their horticulture very seriously, and have produced some very impressive, i.e. comparable to the best in the European Union, standard floral displays. Even the pub is decked out in blooms. Many local villages take part in the competition but Thorpe has an head start due to its pretty rural setting.
Note above: I think they won a national prize in 2002 also.
